November 25th, 1974 (c) Parcel "T" (Plan with Charge Deposited 5541C) District Lot 379, Group 1, New Westminster District, to the M-3 (Special Industrial) Zone proposed to be established under the terms of By-law No. 1335 mentioned above. That Part of Lot 6, District Lot 379, Group 1, Plan 3158, New Westminster District now zoned M-1 (General Industrial) to the M-3 (Special Industrial) Zone proposed to be established under the terms of By-law No. 1335 mentioned above; except for a small portion of the said property lying adjacent to the Coquitlam River which is to be rezoned A-l (Agricultural). The property above described is located on the South side of the 2500 block Davies Avenue and has the civic addresses of 2526, 2336, 2592, and 2596 Davies Avenue. A number of residents of the area were in attendance and on invitation of His Worship the Mayor, were given the opportunity to express their views. Mr. George Forsythe, 3273 Lancaster Street, mentioned that about two years ago the Council agreed to residential zoning in the Lancaster Place area, and pointed out that there are already two junk yards on Davies Avenue. Mr. Forsythe inquired why the Davies Avenue property should be zoned Industrial when there other areas in the City zoned for industry, and stated he was opposed to the proposed rezoning on Davies Avenue. The City Clerk advised that he had received a petition earlier in the evening from the Wrong Side of the Tracks Action Association containing approximately 127 names representing about 114 separate addresses, wherein opposition to the proposed M-3 zoning of the Huntington Rubber site was stated. Mr. Van Gilder, 2620 Gordon Avenue, inquired as to the reason for proposing industrial uses when the area is substantially residential, and he commented on the unsatisfactory access and egress residents are presently experiencing and he expressed his opposition to industrial zoning in that area. Mr. A. MacDonald, 3130 Jervis Street, spoke on alternatives to the proposed Industrial zoning, and suggested that the property could be zoned for park purposes. Mr. M. Tanchak, 365 Seaforth Crescent, Coquitlam, advised he was the owner of Lots 1, 2 & 3, proposed to be rezoned to M-3 under the Amending By-law, and stated he was interested in the effect of the zoning on his property. The City Planner advised that the entire area proposed to be rezoned covers the whole triangular piece bounded by the CP Rail, Davies Avenue and Hastings Street and covers all the Huntington
