THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM sy MEMORANDUM he | ta! JUN 2 2 198i Mayor and Council June 18, 1981 Public Works Committee Extension of Lynwood Avenue An item which was left over from a previous Public Works Committee meeting was the request from Mr. D. Pearce of 1046 Victoria Drive for Council to reconsider the alignment of Lynwood Avenue, This was discussed in Committee. of.Council on June 15th, 1981. Council in Committee supported the long range plan to have Lynwood Avenue ultimately extended through to. Coast Meridian Road as shown in the concept plan for the area previously adopted by Council. Reasons for this ultimate extension were to avoid having a long section of road with only one access to the arterial street system, to provide a satisfactory future road arrangement, and to provide access to the City-owned lot west. of.the proposed subdivi- - sion. It was pointed out that there are no engineering difficulties in the construction of a crossing over the creeks which converge just west of the proposed subdivision. Therefore, the Public Works Committee recofimends that’ the requirements set by the approving officer for dedication of Lynwood Avenue be upheld and that the Developer be required to construct the portion of Lynwood Avenue which is adjacent to his. subdivision.. Respectfully submitted, F.E. Pete City Engineer
