May 5th, 1975 /13. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Aiderman Traboulay: That as requested in a report from the City Administrator, May 2nd, 1975, the City Administrator, Mr. L.D. Pollock, the City Clerk, Mr. R.A. Freeman, and the City Treasurer, Mr. G.F. Forcier, be authorized to attend the Municipal Officers' Association of B.C. Conference to be held in Kelowna, B. C., May 28th to 30th, inclusive, 1975; AND THAT their expenses in connection therewith be paid by the City. Carried. From the City Administrator, May 2nd, 1975, advising that the Royal City Adm.re parking~Royal Bank have submitted plans for a new building on the corner of Shaughnessy Bank building project- Street and McAllister Avenue; however, as they are seven parking spaces Shaughnessy & McAllister short they have asked the City to enter into an arrangement to lease them space in a City-owned parking lot to meet the By-law requirements. The City Administrator, in his report advised that the most recent arrangements made by the City for parking was with Lincoln Projects Ltd. for their building at Shaughnessy and Whyte, at which time Council set a rate of $300.00 per stall as a down-payment for the parking spaces plus $7.00 per month for rental. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That an arrangement be entered into with the Royal Bank of Canada to lease a City-owned parking lot adjacent to the Royal Bank Building Project site at the South-west corner of McAllister Avenue and Shaughnessy Street, at a rate of $300.00 per stall for parking spaces plus $7.00 per month for rental thereof. Carried. Alderman Keryluk voted against the resolution. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Keryluk stated he felt the Royal Bank should provide their own parking area. Aldermen Ranger and Mabbett voted against the resolution. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Ranger reiterated his previous opinion that the size of signs that will be permitted under the proposed by-law amendment in Agricultural areas is too large and that a smaller size would serve the purpose adequately and Alderman Mabbett stated he agreed with the comments made by Alderman Ranger.
