“calling for consolidation of the Fire Departments of the City and District and the
construction ofa district fire hall on City land on the North. side of the City
“that had been considered by both Councils last evening and he s suggested | that
further action should be taken: by staff on “his matter until the actions of the
‘District of Coquitlam Council were clarified.

Moved by Alderman _Laking:

7 Seconded by Alderman Ranger :

That the City's Aduinistrative Staff be instructed to delay for one week all

action on the question of consolidating . the Fire Departments of the District and

the City, Carried.

Alderman Thompson voted against the resolution.
Prior, to the ‘passage of the resolut tion quoted above, the following amending .

Seconded by Alderman Traboulay?

‘That the words ¢ ‘one. week” ia the foregoing resolution be struck out and be

replaced by the words “two weeks". . Defeated.
: Aldermen Meyer and Traboulay voted in favour of the resolution.

Also prior to passage of the resolution quoted above, His Worship the Mayor
requested Alderman Thompson and his Conmittee and. all ether Aldermen to cease any
activities with respect to the consolidation of the City's and District's Fire
Departments until further information had been received. This § proposal met with
the general agreement ‘of the members of Council anda resolution was moved by

"Alderman Traboulay and seconded. by Alderman Mabbett, but was later withdrawn as

being» unnecessary.
