Tevao . tal, Bavry B. Bennett 3635 McRae Crescent Port Coquitlam, B.C. V3B 4N9 Home: 941-0987 Office: 520-2353 FOR INCLUSION IN THE MONDAY JUNE 25, 1990 COUNCIL MEETING 21, 1990 City of Port Coquitlam Environment Committee 2580 Shaughnessy Street Port Coquitlam, B.C. V3C 2A8 Attention: Alderman Wright Dear Six, Res Health and Animal Control Violations In my opinion, the members of this Council did not give due consideration to the concerns of Orphan Wildlife and Wildlife Rescue Association's concerns regarding a raccoon being held in captivity, when granting permission to violate Public Health Bylaw 908 and Animal Control Bylaw 1020, Further, since my written questions of March 13, 1990, to Council have not been answered, I assume that reports by both Public Health Officer Steva Martin and ยง.P.C.A. Inspector Marian Barnes regarding; a) The disposal of fecal litter in a large pile on site in violation of B.C. Health Regulations, and, b) Failure to provide sufficient cage area, food, water and sanitation to bring these conditions more in line with the Ministry of the Environment Wildlife Standards as outlined in Animal Control Bylaw 32-b, were also not made available to the Honourable Members when they made their decision. No authority responsible for animal care will condone the conditions that this animal exists in. Requests made by myself, Wildlife Rescue and the 5.P.C.A. have not been heeded. I also protest comments made in.public by Chief Bylaw Officer Ron Creegy concerning a matter that was still before committee. I admonish this Council for allowing violations that create a nuisance and for delaying cerrective action by way of ill informed judgement. woela
