November 23rd, 1981. NOW THEREFORE the City Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam in open meeting assembled RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS : 1. To reaffirm that the City will discontinue to retain the Regional District for labour negotiations and related auxiliary services in respect of all of -its employees at the earliest possible time, being at the expiration of the 12th calendar month following the day on which the Secretary of the Regional District first received notice of discontinuance from the City; 2. To instruct the Clerk to forthwith notify the Secretary of the Regional District pursuant to Section 2(b) of the Letters Patent that the City is discontinuing to retain the Regional District as aforesaid; and 3. Notice of the City's discontinuance shall become effective at the expiration of the 12th calendar month following the earliest date on which it is determined to the satisfaction of this Council that the Secretary of the Regional District first received valid notice of discontinuance from the City for the purposes of Section 2(b) of the Letters Patent. Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That Lots 5 & 6, Block "A", District Lot 289, Group One, Plan 1954, New Westminster District be purchased by The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam from the registered owner thereof at or for the price or sum of $110,000.00; AND THAT His Worship the Mayor and City Clerk or City Treasurer be authorized to execute the necessary plans or other documents necessary for the purpose aforesaid and to affix the Corporate Seal thereto, farried.
