SUBJECT: Resolutions Re: Powell River Regional District Logging Concerns

Recommendation:

1. That the attached resolutions prepared by the Powell River Regional
District be adopted by Council with appropriate amendments deleting
reference to the Board of Powell River Regional District and
substituting the Council of the Corporation of the City of Port.
Coquitlam therefore.

Ze That the adopted resolutions be forwarded to the appropriate
Provincial Government representatives as requested by the Regional
District.

Background and Comments:

The attached correspondence from the Powell River Regional District was
reviewed by the Environmental Protection Committee at their meeting of October
25, 1989. The Committee supports the Board's request and recommends adoption
of the resolutions.
