"WHEREAS the Canadian economy is still in the doldrums;

WHEREAS it is the responsibility of every municipality
to work towards stimulating the economy; and

WHEREAS the Federal Government levies a substantial
tax on fuel and petroleum products which causes a financial
hardship and tends to aid in maintaining a stagnant economy;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Quesnel
hereby petition the Federal. Government to immediately
reduce the federal tax on all fuel and petroleum
products in an effort to stimulate the Canadian

economy.
