Eng., City Engineer LOUGHEED HIGHWAY CONNECTOR PROJECT (Pablic Works Conunittee Meeting of March 22, 1994) ‘That Council authorize PBK Engineering Ltd. to proceed with Part H: Road an Oe Engineering - Lougheed Connector Project at a tendered cost of 16,852. | 2) That $216,852 be allocated from the Roads DCC Fund for this purpose. At the regular Council meeting of September 13, 1993 Council authorized PBK Engineering Ltd. to proceed with Part I: Prelirninary Engineering Report for the Lougheed Connector Road and Bridge Design at an estimated cost of $111,112 and deferred Part i: Road and Bridge Engineering at an estimated cost of $216,852 until a later date. PBK Engineering Ltd. has now substantially completed the preliminary road and bridge design with a new road alignment as shown on the attached Plan A. , approval in principal has . been received from Federal Fisheries, Provincial Fish and Wildlife, Provincial Water Management Branch, the Coquitlam River Dyking Commission and the Ministry of Highways. Attached is a report dated March 16, 1994 from M. Carrasco, P, Eng., PBK Engineering Ltd. summarizing the status of the Lougheed Highway Connector Project. : It ig recommended that Council authorize PBK Engineering Ltd. to proceed with Part Tf Lougheed Highway Connector Road and Bridge Detailed Engineering Design, Tender and Construction Supervision at the tendered cost of $216,852 (including GST). Applications have been made for grants under the Federal and Provincial Infrastructure Program and an early constraction schedule is an important factor in the award of these grants. | GQ. Peaken LR.
