The two evenly matched clubs tangled again Sunday at the Arena, and the visitors just managed to squeeze through to a 3-2 victory. Soft ice slowed the play consider, ably and before the game was over most of the players were souked from taking spills in the water-covered section at the entrance end of the rink. Quesnel stepped into an early lead} when Arnold-Campbell picked up a loose puck on a Pontiac offensive play and found himself in the clcar with only ‘JL’ Erickson in the ‘lake net to beat. The visitors stretched their lead with another counter when Trask took a rebound shbt off a diving JL to raise it over the pros- trate goalie. The locals closed up when Rich- ardson broke away behind the oppos- ing defence. His hard shot was stop- ped by Trites, who-came out of his net to make the save, leaving a safe shot for Scott who came roaring in on the play. Hard back-checking kept the score down in the second period. Richard- son made the !one tally, tying up the game on a long shot from the side. Assist on the play went to Bishop. The play remained deadlocked un- til half-way through the final frame, when Trask’s screened shot finaily slipped into the net after a lone scramble has seen custodian Erick- son kick out three other shots. Play was stopped with five min- utes to go when Quesnel’s Trites was struck with a ralring puck in the neck. He left the game and team- mate Perry donned the pads. From then to the final whistle the visitors managed to hold the scrambling Pontiacs scoreless. Dog Creek News J, S.
