Cariboo Birth Rate Rivals Bombay’s PRINCE GEORGE — The birth- rate in the Cariboo Health Unit area rivals that of Bombay, India. Dr. Gordon Ferheller told this to the Prince George Kinsmen Club as he was comenting on the suitability of equipment donated by the group to the city hospital. The club has donated an obstetric table and stretcher worth about $1,000. Dr. Fierheller said the Prince George area hirthrate was 40 per thousand, compared with 25 per thousand for the remainder of’ the province. Okanagan Considering Gas Supply Scheme A full investigation into the. pros and cons of a unified natural gas supply scheme to the Okanagan and B.C. Interior is planned by a special committee set up at the quarterly meeting of the Okanagan Munnicipal Association at Summerland last week. The meeting, which discussed the problem for several hours, was of the general opinion that if a gas com- pany offered substantial evidence that natural gas would follow any installation of a propane-butane sup- ply then this should be considered favouably.
