Castillou in country court last Thursday. The charge was made by the crown on July 1, and the case went through police court in Which Magistrate C.H. Poston presided. Here Mingo made an appeal and the case was car- ried to a higher court. The charge was made after a minor was picked up in the lane behind the Lakeview Hotel with two cases of beer in his possession. When asked where he got the beer he said from the hotel bar. Corporal W. Henderson said in evidence that the lad was taken back to the hotel beer parlor where he remained at the door while Henderson questioned Mingo at the bar and asked him if he had sold two cases of beer to the man standing in the door- way wearing pn, rust colored sweater. In answer to Corporal Henderson's question Mingo re- plied “I might have or could have, I don’t know.” x To back up the evidence accused, hotel Brunner,,_ bar- tender Alec Gray and a custom- er who was in the bar were called as witnesses by lawyer Doug MeNeil from Quesnel who defended Mingo. These men gave evidence that man- ager Brunner was standing by Robert Mingo during his discussion with Corporal Hend- erson.
