JORDAN WINS CHAMPIONSHIP William Jordan, Alaska Pine Co td., New Westmin- ster, was the winner in the First Annual Carrier Drivers’ Contest held Saturday, June 27, Mr. Jordan is a veteran carrier driver and has been employed by. the Alaska Pine Co. Ltd. in that capacity for The contest consisted of a series of difficult maneuvres and the drivers were tested on their Knowledge of safety as well as for their skill. Drivers lost points for failing to blow their horns at the proper time and also for pick- ing up loads which were not properly piled. First Prize Mr. Jordan’s first prize was a trophy, presented by the British Columbia Lumber Manufacturers Association, who also sponsored the contest, and $25 in cash. Second prize was won by Peter Zayonc, “MacMillan & Bloedel Ltd., Canidian White Pine Div., and third prize went to Glen Robinson, B.C. Forest Products, Vancouver Division.
