ANNUAL BANQUET PROVES S New Westminster Women’s Auxiliary members of Local 1-357, IWA, were warmly praised for their fine work by Local Officers who were guest speakers at their 4th Annual Meeting and Banquet held May 12th, in the Russell Hotel, New Westminster. Tribute to the WA’s work was’ paid by Joe Madden, President of Local 1-357, Rae Eddie, MLA for New Westminster, Andy Smith, Business Agent and Lawrence Vandale Financial Secretary of Local 1-357. o Recording Secretary Pearl Smith celebrating her birthday, was the recipient of some very amusing cards which were pre- sented by Mr. Vandale who in turn was presented with a suit- able badge. Mistress of Ceremonies, Presi- dent Seabrook then cut the cake. During intermission the regu- lar meeting was opened. A gift of slippers was made by the Auxiliary on Haster Sunday, to their adopted patient in the Solorium. Fifteen patients were isited in the Chemainus Hospital by the Hospital Committee. It was decided by the Auxiliary to end their current year with a heldson in the Nanaimo Plans were formulated by the Lake Cowichan Women’s Auxiliary, Sub-Local of Local 1-80, IWA, at their Meeting May 4th, to hold their Annual Banquet June 5th. A Joint Dance was held by the members May 21st, and the Tri- L. Cowichan Ladies Sponsor Fetes light lamp door prize was won by Mus. Olaf Olson. - Winners at the Bingo Night, May 18th, were Mrs. Matt John- son, Sisters Pat Taylor, Irene All- dred, Phyllis Perreauz, Karen Anderson and Julia Osokin.
