Subject: SUBSTITUTE RESOLUTION STRIKE FUND ASSESSMENT | WHEREAS: Article XII, Section 9 now reads: “An assessment of two dollars ($2.00) per member per month shall be paid into the Strike Fund until the Fund reaches ten million dollars ($10,000,000.00). The assessment shall then be reduced to one dollar ($1.00) per member per month until the Strike Fund is reduced to a low of eight million dollars ($8,000,000.00), at which time the two dollars ($2.00) assessment shall automatically be put. into effect until the Strike Fund again reaches ten million dollars ($10,000,000.00)”, now THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That Article XII, Section 9 be amended to read as follows: “An assessment of five dollars ($5.00) per member per month shall be paid into the Strike Fund.” Submitted by: National Executive Board Subject: MINIMUM DUES WHEREAS: Article IX, Section 4 now reads: “The Local dues to be paid by each member shall not-be less than six dollars and fifty cents ($6.50) per month, together with such assess- ments as are lawfully levied by the different branches of the Union. As- sessments levied against a member are to be paid to the Local Union where the assessments were levied. Any increase in dues above the minimum amount and any levy of assessments may be made only by major vote of those voting by secret ballot for such pur- pose”, now THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That Article IX, Section 4 be amended to read as follows: “The Local dues to be paid by each member per month shall not be less than the total of the National Union Per Capita, together with such assess- ments as are lawfully levied by the different branches of the union, plus one dollar ($1.00). Assessments levied against a member are to be paid to the Local Union where the assessments were levied. Any increase in dues above the minimum amount and any levy of assessments may be made only by majority vote of those voting by secret ballot for such purpose.” Submitted by: National Executive Board Subject: PRO RATE— HOTEL EXPENSES WHEREAS: Article VIII now reads: “For the purpose of sharing the costs of delegates from Local Unions attend- ing the following National Meetings of administrative authority, namely; National Conventions, National dele- gated Conferences and National Exec- utive Board Meetings, the following provision shall prevail: Pro Rate shall be computed on the basis of dividing total cost of actual necessary travel and hotel room allowance up to twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per day for National Con- ventions, Nationalwide Delegated Conferences and National Executive Board Meetings, among the total number of delegates to any such meetings. The National Union will also submit IWA Forest Industry Pension Plan contributions on the behalf of these temporary employees. No tem- porary employee shall be entitled to receive in excess of eighty dollars ($80.00) gross earnings for any day while employed by the National Union.
