16.0 Terrace Review. —— Wednesday, September 18, 1991 —— \ ADE ; Gory “| Video reviews by Harriett Fjaagesund Starring Sylvester Stallone. Produced by Leslie Belzbert. Directed by John Landis. Rating: PG. Running time: 109 minutes. serial killer who has been dubbed the Party Crasher. Nick Lang (Fox) is a popular movie star who desperately wants to break out of his "nice guy” screen image. . Lang is after the role of a tough homicide detective, but the only hope he has of landing this un- likely role is to hang out with the real thing. So he uses his Holly- wood clout to get himself teamed - up with his idol of the detective set — John Moss. Moss is definitely not happy. He’s even less happy when he discovers he’s been ordered off the Party Crasher case to babysit Lang. He tries as best he can to carry on business in his usual colourful manner, but it’s pretty tough going when your pariner tries to insinuate himself into every single aspect of your life, including your love life, and friends wouldn’t keep throwing obstacles in his path. _ His daughter is suddenly preg- nant, his accountant has been thieving from him, his henchmen keep popping up with enough armoury to single-handedly start another war, a bag of jewels keeps disappearing and reappear- ing seemingly at will, the Feds are spying on him, and he can’t even find enough peace and quiet to get fitted for a new suit! His former lifestyle is beginning to look pretty tame after all this. _ This movie received rave reviews from critics, but I found it somewhat flat. "Snaps" Provolone (Stallone) is Chicago’s number one gangster. Life is going along pretty good for Snaps until he’s called to his father’s deathbed. He rashly promises his dying father that he'll give up his life of crime and go straight — a promise he'll live to regret! Snaps is a man of his word, and one month later he’s all set to - enter into the world of high finance and become a legitimate business man. But the transition from mobster to banker would run a lot more smoothly if his goofy family and even goofier The Hard Way Starring Michael J. Fox, James Woods.
