The special needs program has increased by 30%.

Summer swimming - had very good attendance at public swims
during extremely good weather. |

Seniors ~ membdership and participation are increasing very
rapidly with an accompanying demand for programs and space.
Parks - crews keep our parks in good condition. A
commendabie maintenance program is kept up on sport fields.
May Day ~- 1984 May Day was well attended with new programs
ang a new approach to the family concept. Future
organization and structure is under study with a report with
recommendations to be brought before Counci! in 1985. A non-
profit society to take charge of May Day will be examined.

Major Projects in 1984

Reeve Street Soccer Field

Sana field with underground drainage - this deluxe field will

be ready for play in the fall of 1985. Totait cost $193,000.
Witson Centre (Senior Citizens) - Feasibitity Study: ~ A
consultant (Cornerstone) has been hired to recommend on the

feasibility of adding to the present facility or to building

a totally new centre for our seniors. Tnis report will be

ready ang in the hanas of Council! by mid February, 1985.
