RECOMMENDATION:

That City Council direct the City Clerk's office
to prepare a bylaw for rezoning Lot 195 of D.L.
380, Group 1, Plan 58154, NWLD from RS-1 and CS-1
to all CS-1.

BACKGROUND:

The old Beaver Lumber site, the subject property, has
had a split zoning for a number of years. That zoning was applied
to both permit the business to continue operation and to indicate
the City's future plans. Subsequent to that time (1969) the
City's plans have changed and the owners were encouraged to
consolidate their property with a neighbouring lot and build a
large commercial-office development. Due to the falling real
estate market, the owners have indicated they wish to place an
interim use on this property until demand for space increases.
