The meet- ing was the outcome of a.proposal made at the annual meeting of The Hospital patrons a couple of weeks ago.. an There was a great deal of en- thusiasm showmby the ladies and the new organization starts off with every promise of being of great assistance to the institution. The first work to be undertaken will be a series of sewing meet- ings, held at different homes, for the purpose of repairing and re- pital. The first meeting will be held next Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. J. D. Galloway, at 2.30 o’clock. This Friday even- ing there will be a sleighride, with a social time at the home of |‘ Mrs. R.. S.. Sargent afterward. [Development on Sunrise Will Be Carried Further After spending the winter in Vancouver, W. S. Harris returned to New Hazelton last Sunday morning looking fat and saucy, Sunrise property, on Nine-mile mountain, on which he and his associates have a lease. He says that as soon as weather conditions permit he will increase the force materially and continue the shaft he-started last fall, and also start work on another part of the vein, Speaking of mining conditions at no-time have the prospects been brighter for mining develop- ment, ‘There is keen interest in all metals and there seems to be lots of money coming into the provinee for investment. He tooks for considerable activity in this district this coming season. He was in Stewart for a few days before coming up the Skeena, and reports mining as booming in that old and well-known camp.
