The Applications

Under the Waste Management Act, Hydro
is required to obtain two permits for
discharges from the Burrard Plant — one
relating to air emissions and the other to
liquid effluents. .
While studies relating to these permits were

being made, Hydro has operated the plant

under a Letter of Approval. @® BC Hydro
Before submitting its permit applications, .

Hydro will review the entire Process with the

community and receive the comments of in-

terested individuals and groups. Burrard

The Open House Generating
Plant

You are invited to Hydro's two-day open
house on Tuesday or Wednesday, May 29 or

30 at Burrard thermal plant, between 4:00 and Applications for Permits under
9:00 p.m. ‘ the Waste Management Act

There, you will be able to receive further
information, ask questions of Hydro people ~
and contribute suggestions and comments.

The open house. is a continuation of an in-
formation and consultation program begun in
1981. An earlier progress report was
distributed at previous open houses and made
available. through local libraries and Hydro
offices.

If you are unable to attend the open house,
you can view the display in Hydro’s Co-
quitlam office, 2590 Barnet Highway, during
normal working hours.
