City Engineer Petition Fox Road Closuxe - Lobb Avenue West of Mary Hill Road (Public Works/Tratfic Committee Meeting of January 21, 1992) The Public Works Committee considered the attached memorandum from the Project/Traffic Technician regarding a petition from residents in the Lobb Avenue area for closuxe of Lobb Avenue west of Mary Hill Road. A traffic count conducted in January of this year shows an average daily traffic volume of 453 vehicles per day (in both directions) and a traffic volume of 86 vehicles between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. For comparison purposes it was noted that February 23, 1982 a traffic count showed a total of 115 vehicles using Lobb Avenue between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. In general, the traffic volume on Lobb Avenue is considered light for a through road. It was noted that when Shaughnessy Street is extended south to Mary Hill Road the traffic patterns would change and it is expected that the volume of traffic using Lobb Avenue would be reduced. Sgt. Kaminski did not recommend the placernent of 30kph signs at this location; however, he will make arrangements to increase enforcement of the 50kph speed zone on Lobb Avenue. OF HED LR. Zahynééz, P.
