Affiliations have been approved for the Federation of British Columbia Telephone Workers, 4,500 members; the Lithographers and Photo Engravers International Union, 4,000; and Loblaw’s Workers’ Council ,5,000. The CLC has also ap- proved re-affiliation of the 13,500 members of the Interational Union of Operating Engineers, which brings the total Con- gress membership to 1,177,000. * * * Total employment in Canada increased by 76,000 between March and April, to 6,597,000. The total was 224,000 higher than a year earlier. Unemployment declined by 16,000 to 371,000 between March and April and was 32,000 lower than in April 1964.
