City of Port Coquitlam, ta attendance. 2272 MoAllister Ave., Port Coquitlam, B.C. Covi Crern Gentlemen: The year 1974 is proving one of banner growth for the Port Coquitlam Amateur Athletic Association. On the Positive side is an increase in the nuniber of affiliated member associations from nine to twelve, with an accompanying increase in athlete enrollment from approximately 3,000 to 1973 to an anticipated 3,726 in the coming year, We are of course happy and proud that Triple A can provide the vehicle for financing these new Sports once interested individuals have organized their function, and we are especially pleased that two of the new additions, Ringette and Ciris Ice Hockey, are team Sports designed for Sirls, a void fiiled only by Girls Softball until the introduction of Girls Field Hochey last fall. A less pleasant aspect of the Triple A population explosion is the phenominal escalation of costs as shown in the attached Budget Distribution and projected PCAAA Financial Requirements. The total budgets submitted to PCAAA by affiliated member sports have _ jumped from $46,639 in 1973 to $85,366, nearly doubling. Increased costs of equipment and increased arena rental, increased registrations in Sports, all are ¢ the increase in expenses. As Triple A has added the cost of §& first aid equipment and printed material for all affiliate obligations, it has increased its own operating Sligeable $350 last year to $1,500. required purchases reduced as considerable equipment To help raise this rather large amount of money, most member sports have already increased their registration fees far past the 30 percent-of-cost level set down by Triple A last year.
