FUTURE POSSIBILITIES:

By working with the Senior Staff members that prepare reports for Council
ad using our now word processing system we might get to the stage where our minutes
could be largely automated and their production simplified to a very great extent.
The word processing equipment has the ability to pick certain portions of reports
out of its memory and insert them in other areas and it may be that we could code
material so that it could automatically be taken from one document to another and
thus simplify to a very great extent the preparation of minutes and ensure greater
accuracy. It would probably not come to pass for 1983, fut perhaps by 1984 we
would be familiar enough with our word processing equipment - and we will have
enough time - to actually code resolutions in some manner that would make their
retrieval and sorting very easy. At the end of the year wa could perhaps produce
a document that would list all resolutions passed concerniug flooding, traffic,
budget, or all the other matters with which the Council deals during the year.
