SUBJECT: Tender Award for McAllister/Wilson Shaughnessy
Intersection Upgrade (Project 900-214 & 223)

That Trans-Western Electric be awarded the contract for the
intersection improvements at Shaughnessy at Wilson and McAllister
at a total cost of $200,891.43 including GST.

DISCUSSION

Delcan Corp. has been retained by the City of Port Coquitlam to
design and supervise the intersection improvements at Shaughnessy
and Wilson/McAllister. Tenders documents were produced for this
project with 9 copies picked up and 4 returned for consideration.
Major works for each intersection are listed below:

1) Shaughnessy and McAllister

remove existing poles and signal heads
install new poles and signals complete with controller
install loop detectors

2) Shaughnessy and Wilson

- remove existing curb and gutter at three corners of the
intersection

~ install a complete signal system complete with left turn
signals, loop detectors and controller

~ install new curb and gutter to the ultimate location at
three corners complete with new sidewalk
