Prior to the question being called on the foregoing resolution discussion ensued and Alderman Traboulay stated in his opinion he felt the amount for the 1980 May Day should be reduced to $15,000.00, due to the reduced level of expenditures experienced this year. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Wright: That the amount of money to be set aside in the 1980 Provisional Budget for May Day be amended to read "$15,000.00" in place of "$17,000.00". Carried, Aldermen Ranger and Mabbett voted against the resolution. The question was then called on the resolution as amended: Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That as recommended by the Leisure Activities Committee, September 20th, 1979, the amount of $15,000.00 be placed in the 1980 Provisional Budget for May Day. From the Leisure Activities Committee, September 20th, 1979 recommending that $2,000.00 be carried over from the surplus monies from the 1979 May Day to help improve the May Day Float for 1980. Carried. His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell advised the City Administrator's September 21st, 1979 memorandum concerning the PoCo Cabana Teen Disco City Admin., would be discussed at this time. Sept. 21/79 re PoCo Cabana From the City Administrator, September 21st, 1979 advising that Teen Disco. further to the September 17th, 1979 meeting of Council when discussion was held regarding operation of the Teen Disco on a Sunday contrary to By-law No. 1626 Mr. F. Harder, owner of the PoCo Cabana Teen Disco has requested, in writing September 19th, 1979, permission to open on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with admission being free.
