NOTES FROM THE MANAGING EDITOR At the onset of the new year, I'd like to take a bit of space to thank all of you who have contributed to this Newsletter in the past year. Laurel McGregor who gave up this position as editor in August, was largely responsible for initiating the change in format. It is a change that reveals our Board's continuing committment bo increase contact and information dispersal to our membership. My admiration for Anne Fleetham’'s dedication and hard work on the Newsletter over the several years, contin- wes to grow with each issue that | produce. The Editorial Committee, expanded in the fall upon my taking on the managing job, has been very helpful and supportive, and I'd like to thank Bob Kingsmill and Nathan Rafla particularly for their input. Cherie Markiewicz has faithfully prepared Gallery reviews, and Coralic and Margaret provided items for Gallery news. The goodnatured assistance of Rosemary and Jackle in mailing each issue monthly is appreciated, as are Jobst Frohberg's efforts in keeping the membership list in order on his computer and providing us with mailing labels each month. I also thank the Board for giving me the opportunity toa work for the Guild in this context and for their support this fall, It has been an exciting learning experience for me; -particularly when | was able to subdue my fears of a computer and learn to love it! Qur desktop publishers, Don and Ralph at Wordpower, have been good-natured and helpful during this period, as well. Ihave faith such support will continue, and I urge any of you with a yen to put pen to paper, or fingers to the typer, to send the results of such activity care of the attention of the Newsletter! And a happy new one to you all! Jan Kidnie WALTER OSTROM VISITS! The workshop, asl hope you already know, will be held Saturday and Sunday.
