July 7th, 1980. A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on July 7th, 1980 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor G.R. Laking, Aldermen M.D. Gates, J.J. Keryluk, E.W. Mabbett, L.M. Traboulay and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer F.E. Peters, P. Eng., Deputy Fire Chief J.N. Boileau, Recreation Director K.J. Taylor and Mrs. D.L. Vyse. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Wright: Minutes: June 23/80. That the minutes of the regular meeting of this Council held on June 23rd, 1980 be taken as read and adopted. Carried. SONG Rane Btu DELEGATIONS: His Worship Mayor G.R. Laking introduced Mr. Gordon Northcote and re Fish Habitat Complex: Mr. Jim Scott, Fish and Wildlife Branch of the Provincial Ministry of ing. : the Environment, who then spoke to Council regarding the proposed Fish Habitat Complexing on a section of Hyde Creek between Lincoln Elementary School and George Pearkes School. Mr. Northcote then showed slides illustrating a similar project for Council's information. Alderman Traboulay asked for clarification on the project and expressed concern regarding possible flooding of Hyde Creek. Mr. Scott advised the complexing would only be done in the widest part of the creek and precautions would be taken to prevent any risk of flooding. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the request made by the Fish and Wildlife Branch of the Ministry of the Environment, June 27th, 1980 regarding the proposed Fish Habitat Complexing on a section of Hyde Creek as outlined, be approved. Laking introduced Mr. Michael Broderick, Heritage Conservation Branch of the Ministry of the Provincial Secretary, whe then spoke to Council on his request te light fires on the archaeological Fires in Archaelogical site. site at the foot of Pitt River Road for research purposes.
