Link Camp - Boy Scouts of Canada
(Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting September 9, 1993

RECOMMENDATIONS:

That the Port Coquitlam City Council endorse the concept of the Boy Scouts of
Canada, (Port Coquitlam District) hosting a "Link Camp” in Lions Park in
May of 1994.

That the event not be held on the May Day weekend.

BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:

As per City Council's request, the Parks and Recreation Committee obtained clarification
regarding this proposal. Organizers confirmed that they do not want exclusive use of the
park, in fact, they would like the public to come and "see what they do”. In addition, they
are prepared to bring in additional toilet facilities and will discourage use of the parking lot
by their leaders.

The original report from the Acting Recreation Manager and letter from the Boy Scouts is
attached as information.
