Moved by Aiderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That as recommended by. the Leisure Activities Committee, October 6th, 1978 the City of Port Coquitlam not submit a bid to host the 1980 or 1981 British Columbia Winter Games or the 1980 British Columbia Summer Games at this time. Carried. From the Leisure Activities Committee, October 6th, 1978 advising of discussion on the question of whether to have a 1979 May Day. Moved by Alderman Ranger: ‘Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the holding of a 1979 May Day at the approximate cost of the 1978 May Day be approved. Carried. Mayor Campbell and Alderman Thompson voted against the resolution. From the- Leisure Activities Committee, October 6th, 1978 recommending that a General Meeting be called for Monday, October 30th, 1978 to see if people are interested in May Day, and if they are, nat a May Day Committee be struck to function in a similar manner as the 1978 May Day Committee, that the meeting be advertised through the local newspapers and that the 1978 May Day Committee be informed of the meeting.
