October 24, 1988/248 Bob Herr, 1966 Waddell Avenue, Council has closed Brown Street, the rezoning is appropriate for the area, the company is known as being responsible, although there is bound to be noise to a varying degree. The area needs development but in a proper way and so urge Council to turn down this rezoning application. Dustin Baker, 1620 Connaught Drive presented a petition to Council against the xezoning. Gail Terrilon, 1419 Morrison Street advised of being a resident of Port Coquitlam for sixteen years. Would like Council to clarify the matter of trees; are the property owners required to put up a buffer zone? Director of Community Planning replied that developers are required to landscape the property and that in this case there are considerably more trees than the minimum standard. Bob Boileau, 1966 Waddell Avenue, spoke to clarify the matter of trucks the number of diesel units are only four, although he has a number of smalier trucks. Trucks will not be dispatched by a loud speaker. The industrial area would increase the amount of taxes for the City. Taylor Roman, 1662 Connaught Drive appreciated that the property will most likely be rezoned but the greenbelt that is there now is only 60 feet and the buildings that exist now are visaible. Ron Nile, 1839 Pitt River Road, concerned at the anount of employees who will be working there and how many vehicles will be using the residential roads and would the smaller trucks be able to use the residential streets as they are concerned with for the safety of children from schools and coming from games. Mr. Boileau comments that the number of employees will remain the same and that they already drive trucks here there will not be an increase in traffic. Wayne Robbins, 1638 Connaught Drive is opposed to the rezoning and would like council to vote against it. Marg Gordon comments that Industrial taxes do not effect school taxes;, school taxes will not go down through the promotion of industry.
