Damages of approximately $7,250.00 to a hot water heater
and a C.?.R. flat car loaded with lumber. The lumber was
wrapped in a tar impregnated paper which is highly combustible.
The ignition could have been cause by hot cinders from the
engine, investigation could find no other means of ignition.
Tt was necessary to engage Coquitlam Transfer's fork lifts to
unload the lumber befere it could be extinguished. <A clothes
dryer fire which resluted in a total Joss, caused by electric
short. An older type sports car was a complete loss and is
under investigation by R.C.M.P.

40 inhalator calls: 21 home emergencies consisting of
heart attacks, convulsions, falls causing injuries, diabetics,
asthma attacks and home accidents needing treatment. Attended
seven motor vehicle accidents, treating and or transporting
injured people. Transported two patients from local medical
clinics to hospital. One industrial accident, a construction
workman had a nail driven into his hand. Two boys and one
girl needed medical assistance after falling from their
bicycles in separate accidents. <A boy while riding his bicycle
was hit by a car. A girl was injured when she fell from a
horse. Attended three separate cases of overdoses.

Siren sound five times. Once was a malfunction by B.C.
Telephone lines, the others were for larger fires or two
calls coming in together.

August inspection sheet is not complete due to Fire
Prevention Officer being in hospital.
