B2 Terrace Review — Wednesday, February 28, 1990 Terrace trio wins ‘Iceman’ _ The Terrace team of Mike Christensen and Tony Falco picked up Carl Lutz of Smithers to enter and win the team por- tion of the second annual ‘Ice- man’ triathlon at Smithers ski hill on Feb, 18. The nll-male trio recorded a winning time of one hour, 17 minutes. The triathlon operated as follows: Christensen did the mountain bike portion, starting at Pine ‘Creek, then up the ski hill road to the orange T-bar where he dropped his bike and ran to the life to tag Falco. Falco rode the life to the top, then ‘downhill-skied on Chap- man’s Challenge to a super giant slalom course and onward to the blue chair lift, where he tagged cross-country skier Lutz. Terrace’s - Michelle Hendry has picked -p the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ district one female basketball player of the week honor for the third time this season. Hendry, a sophomore who had to share the Feb. 5-to-11 award with Jan Bolton of Seattle Pacific, is only in her second year with Simon Fraser’s ladies’ Clan hoop squad. The team completed its regular season distict one sched- ule on Feb. 20 when they beat Seattle University 105-77. again Michelle wasn’t expected to play that game due to a bout with the flu, but she dressed anyway, played 30 minutes and scored 37 points. The team had an overall season record of 24-and-6. In league play they won 17 and lost two. Hendry ied the district in scor- ing* average (22.9 points per | game) and field goal percentage (62.16). She played an average of 27.61 minutes per game and wound up with 687 points. The school season individual scoring record is 805 points.
