THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM Jeffrey Yip DATE: September 29, 1992 Deputy City Engineer Anne T, Pynenburg PROJECT : No. 553 Project Technician SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR STREETLIGHTING ON TYNER AT HAWTHORNE LODGE DATION: Instail one mastarm streetlight on the second existing pole south of Kingsway Ave. eastside of Tyner at a cost of $14.00/month BC Hydro user charge. Attached is a letter from Lawrence Fagan, Administrator of Hawthorne Lodge, requesting that 2 streetlight be installed on Tyner between Kingsway and Central. The reason for this request is a result of a safety study conducted with the R.C.M.P. They recommended to install a light for the overall safety of Hawthome Lodge residents and employees. There ave existing mastarm lights at the comer of Tyner and Central, on Central and on Tyner south of Hawthorne. The area from Kingsway to Hawthome is dark and heavily treed. Installing a light would visually aid those employees using the section of road when walking from the bus stop at the Poco Rec Centre. SOLUTIONS: 1) Install one mastarm light as recommeded. 2) Suggest that Hawthorme Lodge upgrade the lighting on their property to accommodate the unlit dreas of the property. Daw a Ed ‘“ ) Anne T.
