RE: Demolition Order on 1939 Coquitlam Avenue, Port Coquitlam

I have met with the owner of the above mentioned property to
discuss demolition or securing the building to remove the present hazards.

Most of the major yard cleanup of the property has been done.
The dwelling is not completely secured, however work is being done to
replace windows and the door is secured. I have asked the owner to
submit in writing what he intends to do with the structure; to date he
has not. done so. His intention was to redecorate the interior to live
in it. If the structure is completely secured I feel the City would have
insufficient grounds for a demolition order. However, if the present
state is prolonged, further action would be warranted for removal. I
could not contact the owner for comment today.

Will await Council's direction on this matter.
