THE CORPORATION OF THE CIVY OF PORT COQUITLAM To: Mayor and Council Date: Feb.3, 1981. From: Planning and Zoning Committee Re: R#42-80. SUBJECT: LEGAL | DESCRIPTION: BACKGROUND: Application to rezone properties at 2612-2640 Mary Hill Road from.RS-2 to C-3. Pc.A, Bk.19, D.L.463, SK.187, Lots 9,10,11, Bk.19; D.L.463, Plan2214. Council will recall that in Oct. 1980, an application to rezone the subject properties to allow the development of a one-storey commercial building was presented to Council. The proposed development required the cancellation of a part of Elgin road allowance for exchange with part of the subject properties, which was approved by Council. However, the rezoning application since then has not proceeded any further. We have recently been approached by another developer with a proposal of a more substantial development. This proposal is a.mixed commercial/residential development which will generate 4500sq. ft. of retail space and 35 apartment units. The proposed development is to be a 3-storey structure with parking for the residential component underground and surface parking for the commercial component. Access is to be via Mary Hill Road. “RECOMMENDATION: 7.2 Committee recommends that this rezoning apylication be advanced to Public Hearina. EF g L. Lee City Planner
