Rezoning Fees

RECOMMENDATION:

That City Counc. | direct the Clerk's Office to prepare a by law
amending the City's fees for Rezoning application and Official
Community Plan Amendment applications by increasing advertising
costs from $650.00 to $850.00.

And that the calcutated portion of the non refundable fees base
rate for rezoning applications be increased from $5.00 per 100
square metres To $7.00 per 100 square metreSe

And that the non-refundable fees for Oftictal Community Plan
Amendment applications be increased from $250.00 To $300.00.

COMMENTS:

In reviewing fees charged by the City for processing
applications it has been found that charges have fallen behind

cosTSe

it is proposed that fees be increased to reflect increase costs
+o the City. Changes proposed include increasing refundable
advertising costs to reflect increased cost for newspaper
advertising and mailing noticese Currently, the City is paying
$750.00 for newspaper advertising and fifty cents per letter
for mailing notices. The proposed increase is to cover tnese

costs.

Calculated fees for department costs are proposed To be
increased fo cover a greater portion of development review
costs. The Planning Committee will be submitting a subsequent
report to ‘ntroduce a policy goal to work towards achieving
complete cost recovery.
