October 17, 197) Mayor Campbell and City Council Members, Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B,C, Dear Sirs: Re: The Roof Top Sign and The Neon Sign at the Commercial Hotel in Port Coquitlam The Roof Top sign has been in existence for a good many years and has never been a hindrance to anyone. It is forty (lO) feet above the ground, does not obstruct or obscure traffic or traffic signais in the area, It is mounted quite securely on the roof and conformed to all existing bylaws when it was installed, It is on a timer and only goes on late at night and helps many a weary traveller locate the Hotel. The Neon sign on the new addition to the Hotel is located on the back of the Hotel facing the back parking lot. It is used nainly for the convenience and protection of our patrons in the evenings as it lights up the public parking area. The sign does not affect highway traffic or street traffic in this area. If the sign were to be put on the back wall of the old building it would certainly not do anyone any good and it would become an eyesore, We would appreciate it if your Worship and Council would reconsider your decision and permit us to keep these signs. Yours truly, Montebello A.) atta. Nore: See Letters Leen, City attached, Cirt Crea
