THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PoRT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM JAN 29 1979 Mayor and Council January 29th, 1979 F.E. Peters, P. Eng., City Engineer Rezoning By-law No. 1648 ~ Water at 934 Victoria Drive As it appears that the rezoning by-law no. 1648 will be considered at the January 29th, 1979 Council Meeting, I have the following pertinent information regarding flow tests at the hydrants along Victoria Drive, After a new connection was made between the 12-inch main and the 4~inch main on Victoria Prive at Lynwood, four hydrants were tested. Actual measured flows using a 1-inch nozzle were as follows: 225 gallons per minute at Lynwood and Victoria, 194 gallons per minute at Soball and Victoria, 168 gallons per minute at Burke Mountain Road and Victoria, 126 gallons per minute at Mars and Victoria. Translating these measured flows into actual flows if the press- ure was drawn down to 20 P.S.i. at each hydrant, the flows for the four hydrants would be respectively 450 gallons per minute, 280 gallons per minute, 200 gallons per minute, and 126 gallons per minute. You will note that the latter flow at Mars and Victoria agrees with Our earlier estimated flow of 125 gallons per minute. The Public Works Committee has not had a chance to meet to discuss these results and therefore I have no further recommen- dations from the Committee. Respectfully submitted, F.p! Petanes ep.
