23. Every person who violates any of the provisions of this By-law, or who
suifers or permits any act or thing to be done in violation of any of the provisioas
clas, or who neglects co do or refrains froz doing anything required to
by any of the provisions of this By-law, is guilty of an offence and upon
ccavictica therefor, shall be liable to a fine and penalty not exceeding
Five Euaéred ($500.90) Dollars, or in default of payment thereof, or in the alter-

native to inprisonnent for a period of tire not exceeding six (6) months.

"The City of Port Coquitlan signa By-law, 1969, No. 936" and all By-laws
y2ssed in anenczent thereto are repealed.

The following special purpose and texporary signs shail be permitted ia
all Zones subject to the Lintrationus set forth belev:

Signs of the Federal, Provincial or Municipal Governacat.

Traffic control signs as defined in the "Motor Vehicle Act™.

Signs required to be caintalued or posted by law of Boveroaencal order,
rule or segulation.
4. Signs indicating a hazard provided that they are not, in the opizion of

the building Inspector, in excess of the dizensfors reasonably neceesary for the
required purpose.

5. Flags or ecblesa of political, civic, philanthropic, educatiova! .
teligious organizations.
