From the Planning and Zoning Committee, February 13th, 1981 recommending that rezoning application, R#32-80, to rezone property described as Lots 5 and 6 of Lot 3, Block 32, District Lot 464, Plan 14791, New Westminster District, addressed as 1948 Coquitlam Avenue, from RS-1 to RM-4 proceed to Public Hearing. Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Wright: That as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Committee, February 13th, 1981 rezoning application, R#32~80, to rezone property described as Lots 5 and 6 of Lot 3, Block 32, District Lot 464, Plan 14791, New Westminster District, addressed as 1948 Coquitlam Avenue, from RS-1 to RM-4 proceed to Public Hearing. NEW BUSINESS: Alderman Mabbett referred to the use of aluminum electrical wiring and requested that the Senior Building Inspector and Fire Chief prepare a report on the situation in Port Coquitlam. Alderman Muldoon advised that she had recently attended a conference on recycling at the University of British Columbia and that she had found the same to be informative. Alderman Muldoon referred to the forthcoming meet ing concerning the Fraser River Estuary Study and advised that she would be attending and Mayor Laking advised that he would also be attending. Alderman Traboulay referred to a letter dated February 20th, 1981 that all members of Council had received from Mr. Harold Pritchett concerning the present lahour negotiations and he requested that it be read for the information of the public. The City Administrator, who had been attending negotiating meetings in Vancouver all day, advised that he would have a report to be presented to the Council and committee later this evening. Alderman Traboulay referred to the recent impoundment of a dog owned by the Potvin family that had been discussed in Council last week and Mayor Laking advised that the $.P.C.A. would appreciate it if this matter was not further discussed. Alderman Traboulay then commented that the policy of acceptance by the S.P.C.A. of cheques for adoption of animals but not for the reclaiming of impounded animals should be reviewed.
