Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal

Le 23éme Festival d’été francophone de Vancouver 2012 se termi-
nera par un spectacle gratuit pour célébrer la St-Jean-Baptiste, le diman-
che 24 juin, avec un soupcon de douceur et de lyrisme, grace au talent
du célébre cheeur des Petits Chanteurs du
Mont-Royal. Ce spectacle sera présenté a
lV’Eglise St-Augustine, 4 compter de 19 h
00. Il s’agit d’un arrét d’une tournée sur
Sem la Cote Ouest qui les conduira notamment
7 Mont-& Victoria, Seattle et Portland. Agés de
Royal huit a dix-sept ans, les Petits Chanteurs

du Mont-Royal interprétent aussi bien le
chant grégorien que des ceuvres vocales contemporaines. A VPoccasion
de la Saint-Jean-Baptiste, ils partageront avec le public vancouvérois un
registre de chansons francophones qui reprend des morceaux de Félix
Leclerc, Gilles Vigneault, Claude Debussy ou encore Clément Janequin.
En plus de 70 cérémonies religieuses a |’Oratoire Saint-Joseph, les gar-
cons d’origines culturelles diverses se produisent a travers le monde, et
ont chanté avec les plus grands noms de la musique lyrique tel que Lu-
ciano Pavarotti. En dehors de leurs prestations, ils recoivent trois heures
de formation musicale par jour en plus du programme scolaire régulier.
Piano, solfége, techniques vocales, le chant choral et le répertoire sacré
et profane, voila les matiéres qu’ étudient les petits protégés dans le cadre
de « La Maitrise des Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal ».

Vancouver 5 23rd Festival d’été francophone 2012 will close with a
free performance to celebrate St. Jean Baptiste day on Sunday, June 24,
to the sweet and lyrical voices of the talented Petits Chanteurs du Mont-
Royal choir. This performance will be held at St. Augustine Church, be-
ginning at 7 p.m. The choir will be stopping in Vancouver on its tour
of the West Coast, including performances in Victoria, Seattle and
Portland. The singers in the Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal choir are
between the ages of eight and seventeen. They will perform Gregorian
chant as well as contemporary choral works. On the occasion of Saint
Jean Baptiste day, they will share with the Vancouver audience a reper-
tory of francophone vocal music that includes pieces by Félix Leclerc,
Gilles Vigneault, Claude Debussy and Clément Janequin. In addition to
over 70 religious ceremonies at Saint Joseph’ Oratory, the boys from
diverse cultural backgrounds have performed around the world, and
they have sung with some of the greatest names in lyrical music, such as
Luciano Pavarotti. In addition to performances, they receive three hours
of musical training a day on top of their regular school program. The
young choir members are given training in piano, music theory, vocal
technique, choral singing and both sacred and lay repertory as part of
the curriculum of “La Maitrise des Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal”
