We think it is Significant that the local. tax requisition will. increase by 23.5% ever Lagt year, This matter was discussed at a School Poard meeting oan Tuesday, 1981-04-23 and the Board asked me to request that your Council make representation to the Ministers. of Education and Finance to urge the government to: 1. Pay special grants to Boards of School Trustees in the Vancouver, Metropolitan School Districts in the year 1981 which will relieve the extra. burden pllaced on local property taxpayers in these school districts because of the rapid rise in assessed values which has occurred in the past year. Urge the government to revise the finance formula by the end of the current calendar year so that in the year 1982 there will be a reduction in school. property txxes in the Vancouver Metropolitan School Districts and there willl also be an equitable distribution of property; taxes throughout the Province in 1982 and subsequent years.
