My only previous exposure to an arts-type festival had been the Pacific Northwest Music _ Festival and my expectations or ors based on. intense’ competition . and technical perfection. While I had enjoyed the various adjudications in the speech arts categories, i had not - s liked the . atmosphere “at. all. ”. That atmosphere spoiled for me ‘the pleasure of the’ craft, I came to drama fest as a " spectator, curious because peo- * ple-t knew would be perform: ing. As soon as I entered the REM Lee Theatre, I could jeel this was an uttertly differnt type of festival.
