Eng., FILE: EST 220 Deputy City Engineer SUBJECT: FONTANA DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION - 2326/36/50 HAWTHORNE 36 UNIT APARTMENT BUILDING (Public Works Committee - March 16, 1993) RECOMMENDATION: That Council approve a $4,100 oversizing contribution for the installation of a 250 mm diameter water main on Hawthome from the East property line to Shaughnessy Street and that the cost be allocated from the Waterworks Capital Budget 1993. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: As part of the off-site servicing requirements for this proposed 36 unit apartment building development located at 2326 to 2350 Hawthome Avenue, the developer is required to upgrade the watermain fronting the development. A 150 mm diameter main is required for the development, however, the City’s long term system plan identifies that a 250 mm diameter is ultimately needed. Accordingly, the developers consultant has estimated the difference in cost for this oversizing to be approximately $4,100. Following consideration the Committee approved the contribution for the oversizing and that the cost be allocated from the Waterworks Capital Budget. > J. E. Yip, P. Ging.
