At che regular Council -meeting held on March 24th, 1975 Alderman’. Rar.ger

stated that at the next Council meeing he would be proposing a resolution
suggesting that the entire Council. be elected every two years rather than

“half the Council being elected each year, and his report thereon is attached hereto.

Election of 53a. (1) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act or of the
Letters Patent or supplementary Letters Patent of a municipality, the
Council may, by by-law, provide that all Aldermen shall be elected
biennially.
_ (2) The by-law under subsection (1) shall make provision for the
transition from an annual election to a biennial election of Aldermen.
