Municipalities Your Worship and Members of Council: The City Council at its regularly scheduled meeting of Monday, May 9, 1988 considered a report from the North Shore Ad Hoc Committee on Group Homes and endorsed twelve subsequent recommendations. One of the recommendations was that letters be sent to all British Columbia Municipalities detailing Council's resolution on recommendations 1 and 2 requesting that other Municipalities support these two recommendations and so inform the Ministers of Health, Social Services and Housing, Attorney _ General, and Solicitor General. Recommendations No. 1 and 2 are: (Ll) THAT the Provincial Government be urged to amend the Community Care Facility Act, Section 5(a) (iii) and Section 7 to reduce the number of residents from ten plus staff to six residents plus staff. THAT the Minister of Health, Social Services and Housing, Attorney General, be urged to provide funds to operators of group homes so that six-bed facilities are financially viable in all areas of the Province. : Our Council strongly requests your support for this resolution as it is of a very timely and urgent matter to the three North Shore Municipalities.
