SUBJECT: DRAINAGE IMPROVE?

RECOMMENDATION:

Install standard catch basin at the front driveway portion of 1680 Coquitlam Ave. at a cost of
$3500. |

The resident at the above noted address notified the Engineerting Dept. of a drainage problem
at the front of his property. The property is on the SE comer of Wellington and Coquitlam
(See sketch). ; a -, | |

_ An existing catch basin at the NE comer of the property was capped and a new lawn basin
installed to allow a lower level for drainage. Due'to' an intersecting driveway, water run-off
west of the driveway is not abie to reach the CB to the east. The resident has been pumping
the excess water from his property and has built a trench along the front of the property
parallel to the road edge to assist run off. : : :

Coquitlam Avenue was re-constructed in September 1991. Milling, paving and reconstructing
_ the shoulder inhibited the run-off water to soak into the ground, — | | ,
