Council wanted additional information on the maintenance of school
fields.

1. Bryan Kirk and myself met with Bob Smith, Secretary Treasurer,
S.D.#43 on Friday, September 9th, 1983. - Smith. indicated

that there would be

to schedule the use. Attached is an agreement that has been
drawn up between Coquitlam Parks & Recreation Department and
S.D.#43. We would envision having a similar agreement drawn
up for’ our present school fields. which we maintain.

Bram Hoogendoorn and myself went to view the condition of the
large senior field at George Pearkes Junior Secondary. The
field does not require any major upgrading. It should be
noted that the sod Presently on the field is on a Clay base
and this will retain water. If the Parks Department was to
take over the maintenance of the field we would have an
aggressive prograin of oversanding. ana aerating which would
break down the clay and then we would have a Proper sand base.
