Re: Repairs to Hyde Creek Roof

Council are all aware of the problems we have had with leaks
through the roof of the Hyde Creek Centre. These leaks appear
to. be coming through at the point where the hand railing around
the patio penetrates the roof. We have had an investigation
done by a roofing engineering firm with the recommendations

and specifications for repair. The repair calls for removal

of the hand rail and a portion of the concrete patio, repair of
the roof, and reinstallation of the hand rail without penetration
of the roof.

Tenders have been called and out of a total of twelve firms
requested to submit tenders, Only one did so. A tender was
received from A & A Roofing Ltd. of Port Coquitlam in the amount
of $3,500.60. This appears to be a reasonable price. Additional
work of cutting the railing supports and the concrete and re-
lowating the railing will be done by City crews. We estimats
that the total cost of the work would be under $5,000.00.

The Committee recommends that the tender be awarded toA &A
Roofing Ltd. and that the necessary funds be found by the City
Treasurer.
